The Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is responsible for the incarceration and rehabilitation of NYC's youth offenders, ages 7 through 15. They provide Non-Secure (NSD) and Secure Detention (SD) for juveniles, as well as in-care and after-care services. While in detention, residents have access to various services such as education, healthcare, recreation programs, and case management.
